Maramiki is the creation of Mara Snipes, a designer and textile artist based in Chicago.

Mara has been drawing and designing since she can remember, and expresses this passion through fabric with her hand-screenprinted textiles and linens.  Mara finds beauty and sensitivity in simple lines and shapes, and her designs are strongly rooted in the natural world.  With each pillowcase, tablecloth, and yard of fabric, Mara’s imaginative and organic designs add a soothing creative element to any space.

With happy customers dotted all over the globe, Mara continues to find inspiration all around her.  After spending ten years in San Francisco, she now works from her home studio in Chicago, where she takes regular walks to chronicle the changes of the seasons.  Winter walks require a bit more planning.
